Dye Penetrant Test

This method of inspection uses a penetrating dye to find cracks in metal surfaces, welds, brazes, ceramics and polymers. It is very useful for evaluating the surface condition of metal castings for defects such as cracks, gas porosity, and inter dendritic shrinkage. This is often complemented with the use of radiography and ultrasonic testing.
