Mike Blum is the president of MTA Laboratories.He is a NACE accredited Corrosion Specialist with over 35 years experience in materials and corrosion engineering related to manufacturing and operation in the chemical, medical device, semiconductor, petrochemical and process industries. His experience includes the development of corrosion resistant materials, evaluation of the corrosion resistance and weldability of materials, quality assurance and quality control of materials during fabrication as well as plant inspection and equipment failure analysis.
Mike holds a B.S. degree in Metallurgy from the University of the Witwartersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa and an M.S. degree in Corrosion Engineering from the University of London. He is a member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, the International Metallographic Society, where he served on the board of directors, American Society for Materials, and the American Society for Testing and Materials.
